PD Day Art Club just got a full-day, full-fun upgrade! With all-day art activities and LUNCH INCLUDED, GPAG offers the perfect opportunity for students on their day off of school to engage their creative minds in imaginative art making across a variety of mediums. All materials are included! Lunch includes pizza, juice, fruit, and healthy snacks. Sign up early to secure your spot!

Squish, splat and smoosh along with your toddler as they discover the joy of art through play with Creative Bug! Wear your play clothes and come ready to join in the fun as we explore new art stations each week! ARTful Play sessions run for 6 classes.

Join us on Friday, April 4th, at the Grimsby Museum for a fun-filled, Easter-themed PD Day scavenger hunt and felt Easter craft activity! This event is open to all ages.

Admission is by donation, with all proceeds supporting the Grimsby Museum. Pre-registration is required as space is limited—secure your spot through the link provided.

This is a drop-in event, so feel free to join us anytime between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM, and stay as long as you like!

Please note: Adults must accompany children for the duration of your visit.

Dive into the archives of GPAG’s permanent collection and learn fundamental art techniques such as printmaking and colour theory referencing some of our gallery’s greatest treasures. Bring your own perspectives and imagination to your artworks and show what the next generation of Grimsby artists look like!

Join longtime Wayzgoose contributor Beth Rose from Grace Notes Press and learn for yourself the process of Longstitch Binding. This glueless binding, heralding from eighteenth-century Italy, uses a single thread to sew several signatures onto the cover. With exposed stitches at the top, middle and bottom of the spine, this bookbinding method creates a simple appearance that secures the sections to the cover in a pleasing pattern. 

The Hooked on Handmade: Book Arts Bundle includes enrollment in the Zine Workshop, Longstitch Bookbinding Workshop, Collage Night with Paper Bananas, and Gelli Printing Workshop.

GPAG is well-known for our Wayzgoose Anthology publication and Book Arts Fair that is always held on the last Saturday in April. A celebration of printmaking, private press printers, bookbinders, paper makers, and other artisans working within the art of the hand-made book. Dive into the world of Wayzgoose with 4 exciting DIY book arts workshops that take place throughout the month of April!

Take a break from homework and textbooks during your school week and exercise your creative side in our adventurous Super Studio Creators. Guided step-by-step and process-led art projects are taught along with important art skills by one of our talented studio instructors. All materials included. 

Calling on everyone who is interested in art and history to join the GHS as we welcome Sarah Oatley from the Grimsby Public Art Gallery as she presents "Celebrating GPAG's 50th Anniversary"!

Sarah's presentation features the history of the foundations of the art gallery from basement beginnings to the new building.  Highlighting significant moments in the gallery's history including prominent exhibiting artists, interesting and unconventional programming, permanent collection features and vault storage upgrades.

Sarah is an art historian and researcher working as a program assistant for the GPAG's 50th anniversary.  She has conducted research and produced exhibitions across Canada including the Agnes Etherington Art Centre, the Bachinski-Chu Print/Study Collection and the Fashion History Museum.

Fee for GHS members is complimentary and guests is $10.00.      Everyone is welcome to attend!

Practice and refine your skills with our Figure Drawing sessions. Drawing the human form live is an essential exercise for artists of all abilities, mediums, and styles. Get into the practice with quick studies, gestures, and extended poses, clothed and unclothed. Participants are self-directed and without an instructor in an open studio format. Participants are to provide their own drawing board, paper, and materials of choice. Pre-registration required to ensure a spot in the session.

Join us at the Grimsby Museum for the final part of our new true crime talk series on April 12th at 1pm featuring guest speaker Keith Leckie. 

Join us as Leckie explores the true story of the “Black” Donnellys, a tale where Jim Donnelly and Johannah Magee boarded an immigrant ship from Ireland to Canada to start a new life that would eventually become filled with feuds, vendettas, and murder. Learn about how the Donelly family had become one of the most powerful families of Biddulph County, loved by some and hated by others, in this engaging discussion presented by scriptwriter, novelist, and film director Keith Leckie.

Join in on a fun and creative Collage Night with Paper Bananas! Everything you need is provided! Dig into a huge supply of magazines, books, paper and other art supplies, and get inspired. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or it's your first time picking up a glue stick, it’s sure to be a relaxing evening of creativity!

Young artists will explore artmaking through an environmentally conscious lens, creatively considering recycled materials and proper material disposal through projects touching on collage, mixed-materials, and environmental activism. Expand your imagination and artistic abilities in a way that benefits your own creativity and the planet! 

Join us for Fresh Air & Fine Art, a relaxed and inspiring painting group set against the stunning landscapes of Grimsby. This group is perfect for artists of all levels who want to capture nature and the local landscape in their art. Each session will take place at a different outdoor location, offering a fresh perspective of the area’s natural beauty. While this is a primarily self- directed experience, our group facilitator, Anja Steensma, will be available for light guidance, support, and encouragement. Be sure to bring your preferred painting supplies, including paints, brushes, and a portable easel. Fresh Air & Fine Art offers a perfect opportunity to connect with fellow artists, find creative inspiration in nature, and enjoy the therapeutic benefits of painting outdoors.

Our Youth Art Studio program is designed for eager youth and teens looking to expand their talents in creative classes that focus on fundamental technical skill development and finding their artistic voice as emerging artists. An experienced studio artist instructor will focus sessions on different mediums and methods of artmaking to benefit youth of all different artistic levels and abilities. In a creative environment that allows students to work and socialize alongside like-minded peers, this program will equip you with the tools needed to help you make your mark and develop your very own portfolio.

The Grimsby Museum is thrilled to announce the opening of its first ever permanent gallery this April. 

This exhibition explores Grimsby’s history through a journey from ancestral lands and peoples to modern times. With a hologram installation and interactive artificial intelligence, The Grimsby Museum invites you to experience history through a new lens.

Join us April 24th from 4:30pm - 7:00pm at the museum for an evening filled with history, food, and drinks to celebrate this exciting event!

The Canadian Federation of University Women will host their Annual Giant Book Sale. 

1. Books may be dropped off at St. Andrews Parish Hall on Friday April 25th from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
