Admission is by donation, with all proceeds supporting the Grimsby Museum. Pre-registration is required as space is limited—secure your spot through the link provided.
This is a drop-in event, so feel free to join us anytime between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM, and stay as long as you like!

Join longtime Wayzgoose contributor Beth Rose from Grace Notes Press and learn for yourself the process of Longstitch Binding. This glueless binding, heralding from eighteenth-century Italy, uses a single thread to sew several signatures onto the cover. With exposed stitches at the top, middle and bottom of the spine, this bookbinding method creates a simple appearance that secures the sections to the cover in a pleasing pattern.

Calling on everyone who is interested in art and history to join the GHS as we welcome Sarah Oatley from the Grimsby Public Art Gallery as she presents "Celebrating GPAG's 50th Anniversary"!
Sarah's presentation features the history of the foundations of the art gallery from basement beginnings to the new building. Highlighting significant moments in the gallery's history including prominent exhibiting artists, interesting and unconventional programming, permanent collection features and vault storage upgrades.
Sarah is an art historian and researcher working as a program assistant for the GPAG's 50th anniversary. She has conducted research and produced exhibitions across Canada including the Agnes Etherington Art Centre, the Bachinski-Chu Print/Study Collection and the Fashion History Museum.
Fee for GHS members is complimentary and guests is $10.00. Everyone is welcome to attend!

Practice and refine your skills with our Figure Drawing sessions. Drawing the human form live is an essential exercise for artists of all abilities, mediums, and styles. Get into the practice with quick studies, gestures, and extended poses, clothed and unclothed. Participants are self-directed and without an instructor in an open studio format. Participants are to provide their own drawing board, paper, and materials of choice. Pre-registration required to ensure a spot in the session.

Join us as Leckie explores the true story of the “Black” Donnellys, a tale where Jim Donnelly and Johannah Magee boarded an immigrant ship from Ireland to Canada to start a new life that would eventually become filled with feuds, vendettas, and murder. Learn about how the Donelly family had become one of the most powerful families of Biddulph County, loved by some and hated by others, in this engaging discussion presented by scriptwriter, novelist, and film director Keith Leckie.

Join us for Fresh Air & Fine Art, a relaxed and inspiring painting group set against the stunning landscapes of Grimsby. This group is perfect for artists of all levels who want to capture nature and the local landscape in their art. Each session will take place at a different outdoor location, offering a fresh perspective of the area’s natural beauty. While this is a primarily self- directed experience, our group facilitator, Anja Steensma, will be available for light guidance, support, and encouragement. Be sure to bring your preferred painting supplies, including paints, brushes, and a portable easel. Fresh Air & Fine Art offers a perfect opportunity to connect with fellow artists, find creative inspiration in nature, and enjoy the therapeutic benefits of painting outdoors.
